‘Massive’ auction of plant hire company’s assets

All the assets of long-established plant hire company B & K Plant (Pty) Ltd, which is in voluntary liquidation, will be sold in a “massive” auction to be held in Springbok in the Northern Cape on Wednesday, 29 August.

This is according to Brigette Hindley of Michael James Organisation, which will sell B & K Plant’s entire fleet of trucks, trailers and vehicles, and all its equipment, by public auction.

The business – named Botes & Kennedy (Pty) Ltd after its founders André Botes and Jan Kennedy when established in 1981 - operated for nearly 40 years from its head office in Springbok, says Hindley.  “It was previously the plant hire company of choice for a variety of clients, ranging from those in the mining and industrial sectors to parastatals, and regional and local authorities.”

The high-value items that will on offer at the auction will include a 2007 Tadano TR-200 Ex crane, a 2012 M.A.N Line Explorer 65-seater bus, a 2009 Hino 700 57-450 truck, a 2015 Mitsubishi Fuso single-axle truck with crane, a 2017 Toyota Quantum 2.5 D4D, and a 2016 Toyota Hilux 2.4 GD6.

“Among the construction equipment that is expected to be in demand at the auction will be a 2015 CAT 428 F digger loader; a Macnay L12 gravel spreader; a Macnay sweeper, scaffolding, hydraulic bridge-lifting component system; a Graco M680 motar (mortar?) pump, and much more,” she says.

The auction will be held on site at B & K Plant’s Springbok premises: 2 Tanteliet Street, at 10.30am on Wednesday, 29 August. The auction assets may be viewed at the same address between 9am and 3pm on Tuesday, 28 August.

The terms of the auction, which will be strictly adhered to, may be viewed on the Michael James Organisation website.  The full details and comprehensive auction lists are available on http://www.michaeljames.co.za/auctions/massive-liquidation-auction-b-en-k-plant-pty-ltd-in-voluntary-liquidation-springbok.
